Submission Series program cards for the Junior members provide a progressive curriculum tailored to building on the foundational positions and techniques taught in the introductory 8 week series. Structured classes teach discipline and focus as they adhere to class routines and learn how to execute techniques safely.
At this stage we build on the fundamentals taught in kids program by adding advanced concepts, techniques and training methods. We demonstrate how students are able to make the connection between Jiu Jitsu and everyday life by building confidence and creating problem solving situations through martial arts training that can be implemented in real life situations.

16 Lesson Class Curriculum
Positional Control
Class #1 – Academy rules, safety protocols & fundamental Jiu Jitsu body movements and drills, standing foot work, break-falls and shoulder rolls. How to safely maintain natural body positioning and structural alignment focusing on base posture and pressure.
Guard Position
Class #2 – Guard top & bottom position (bottom safety strategies and top retention concepts)
Class #3 – Guard pass & escape (knee cuts and hip bumps)
Cross Side Position
Class #4 – Cross side top positional controls and retention
Class #5 – Cross side bottom positions (escape concepts and techniques)
Class #6 – Cross side attacks
Class #7 – Cross side defense
Mount Positions
Class #8 – Mount top positional control (low, mid and high mount retention)
Class #9 – Mount bottom safety + escape
Class #10– Mount attacks
Class #11 – Mount defense
Back Control Position
Class #12– Back positional control
Class #13– Back escapes (back prevention and escape strategies)
Stand Up Positions & Movement
Class #14 – Standing clinch control
Class #15 - Take-down with control
Game Plan
Class #16: Drills = stand up strike protection, take-down, positional control & escapes + transitions to dominant positions and positional escapes + submissions + counters and attack
Final class will include technique & sparring demonstrations / parent participation encouraged!

Mount Positions
Class #4 – Mount top positional control, modified mount and high mount retention
Bottom mount escapes options, trap and roll & elbow knee escape
Back Control Position
Class #5 – Back positional retention - body triangles and over under control
Back escape options, leg fighting
Stand Up Positions & Movement
Class #6 – Stand up wrestling, 50 / 50 control, pummeling, arm drags, 2 on 1 control
Take downs - double leg and take down defense
Self Defense & Game Plan Development
Class #7: - Standing Self Defense, front grab break and headlock escapes
Jiu Jitsu Game plan concepts - Positional transitions, defense, escape and attack
Basic Boxing and Kick boxing introduction
Live Sparring
Class #8: Conditioning & Live Positional Control Sparring - 5 minute rounds
