Our structured MMA program provides a conditioning & cross training experience while training realistic, effective and proven self defense and fighting techniques.
Structured Classes:
Monday Night MMA Class from 6 to 7:00pm
MMA & BJJ Technique Review & Drilling Sessions every Saturday from 10am to 11pm
All Adult memberships include access to both MMA and BJJ classes
No experience necessary, classes are open for all ages, skill & conditioning levels.
Our MMA curriculum allows you to track your progress and develop a complete realistic martial arts and self defense fighting system.
Our 16 class rotation curriculum allows all skill and conditioning levels the opportunity to work together by regularly cycling through the most effective fundamental techniques while adding advanced techniques that encompasses a variety of the mixed martial arts skill sets. We focus on new specific fighting technique from our curriculum every class but due to the extensive nature of the mixed martial arts skill set, we incorporate drills and crossover techniques from throughout the curriculum.
Movement
Class #1 – MMA Tool Box - foot work + partner pad drills + ground positional movements + shadow kickboxing & wrestling and agility training
Striking
Class #2 - Punch templates (level 1 example: 6 punch combo - jab + cross + hooks + uppercuts)
Class #3 - Punch defense and counters (partner pad & glove work)
Class #4 – Punch attack sequences + combination
Kicking
Class #5 - Kicking templates (level 1 example: lower leg example: outer & inner thigh + calf + ankle)
Class #6 - Kicking defense (level 1 example: checking + riding + evading + countering)
Class #7 - Kicking attack sequences + combinations
Striking Combinations
Class #8 - Stand up striking attack sequences: punches, elbows, knees, kicks
Stand Up Wrestling
Class #9 - Clinch work (level 1 example: over/under, collar ties, duck unders, back control)
Class #10 - Take-downs (level 1 example: double & single legs, snap downs & trips)
Submission Wrestling
Class #11 - Positions and posture review: guard, mount, side control, back
Class #12 - Positional retention + transitions + escapes
Class #13 - Ground submission attacks + Striking from all positions
Class #14 - Ground submissions counters & strike safety from all positions
Class #15 - Submissions from positions - submission set ups
MMA Drills and Combinations
Class #16 - Game plan development - This is your chance to bring it all together.
Our MMA classes feature combat techniques incorporating a mix of the following fighting skills:
Atemi Waza (Striking)
Boxing / Kickboxing = Learn proper striking, punches, elbows, knees, kicks, head movement, foot work, timing, defense and counter strikes. Drills include shadow boxing, speed & heavy bag work, partner focus mitts and kicking shield training.
Tachi Waza (Standing Techniques) Stand Up Wrestling & Take Downs = Learn how to close the distance and control your opponent with proper clinch control, collar ties, back takes, submissions and take downs.
Ne Waza (grappling on the ground )
No-Gi Submission Wrestling = Ground work without the GI. Learn to stay strike safe while transitioning back to your feet or to a dominant ground position to set up strikes and submissions.
Self Defense Concepts
Develop timing, distance management and the reflexes necessary to avoid and
escape from dangerous situations, positions and attacks.
